Bored Like Crazy

Today has got to be one of the most boring days ever! Gawd. In fact, I was so bored I watched this movie.

Shopping is not option by the way because I'm fucking broke.

The movie's fine. It's a pretty mature film.

There was this couple right beside me though who were blabbering the entire friggin' time. I think I heard someone shush them once but they were relentess. I glanced at them a couple of times and this guy to my left leaned forward as well and shot a dirty look at them but it's either they couldn't take a hint or were just really shamesless motherfuckers.

I could actually hear what they were saying---especially the girl whose voice was audible. It's like they both just sat there to have their little annoying conversation, giggle, then they would notice something on the screen and give their irritatingly nonsense commentaries. Why couldn't they be more like this other couple two seats to my left who seemed sweet but quiet? Jeezus. Some people are just so inconsiderate. I wasn't in the mood to create a scene so I stopped myself from telling them to shut up or go away.

Anyway, I'm still bored but thank God for Kathy Griffin Youtube videos.

Old Shoes

"Men I may not know. But shoes...Shoes I know." - Carrie Bradshaw
I may not be as extravagant a shoe addict as Ms. Bradshaw but I know my footwear too. Comfort is of course a major factor as I walk endlessly but style will definitely be not compromised. There's nothing like getting a compliment from a total stranger that affirms the idea of a good, albeit seemingly frivolous, buy. Quality is most definitely a requirement in buying shoes. A good pair should be able to last for a long time.

Having mentioned that, let me pay tribute to these three pairs that have been serving me well over the years. These are my most used, battered kicks that bring back memories, both good and not-so-good.

These shiny things have been serving me well for a long time now. I bought them on sale using the money I earned when I had a garage sale in December 2006. I was heartbroken then so I needed a distraction. I decided to get rid of clothes, shoes and other belongings  that I no longer used. I spent a part of my earnings on these golden babies.

I also wore these during the talent competition when I was forced to join, wait for it... a pageant. That was back in college. Ah, memories.

Talk about worn out. These are obviously very old, I got them for my birthday in 2005 during the great comeback of Chucks. These are a size bigger which is probably why the sides cracked pretty quickly. Hence the stitching on the rubber which make them very unique. Thank you Mr. Quickie!

I always have to wear black socks with these to obscure the holes and the gaping areas but I think this pair of Chucks look gorgeous---just perfectly, naturally distressed. I'll miss you when you retire soon.

Hello skater! I got these in Defect many years ago. Remember that store in Glorietta with the funky decors where they would wrap your purchases in Tasty Bread plastic bags and put everything inside a net bag? I found out recently that it was actually owned by Cecile Zamora Van Straten aka Chuvaness! How cool is that?!

Anyway, I love these shoes. I just had the details added after our helper scrubbed the fabric a little too hard. The dots faded so I had patches stitched on. I got a lot of compliments with these shoes by the way. But, I blame this pair for the following image.

Major Rant

Hello asshole. Are you fucking serious? Can you please come down from your imaginary pedestal and realize that the world doesn't revolve around your ass?

Jeezus, this guy is the biggest asshole ever! Serious-fucking-ly! He is full of himself. He's like no other. I swear. I must have been so damn bored that I kept talking to him despite the not-so-interesting conversations!

You and your perfection! It's all about you isn't it? A little humility won't kill you hun, promise.

Somebody smack me on the head for keeping up with this bullshit! I want my 3 weeks back!

No Reservations at The Reserve

Here are the pictures from last Saturday night's revelry.

Meet Reg, Ingrid, Ina, Margeo, Marga and Erina Lareanu.
I agreed to go when Erin invited me to this night-out because he gave me the impression that only 1 or 2 of his girl friends will be coming. But lo and behold, there was five of them! So I got a little shy at first. I'm not so good with meeting friends of friends you see. Everything turned out fine though.

I say Tim! You say DJ! LOL

Erin loved Ingrid's gift for him that he wore it immediately. He later lost the original top he was wearing that night. Lumandi pa kasi sa Malate!

We didn't have reservations so the five of us ended up with this tiny table, al fresco. And I think there was a private party or something that night. It turned out to be a good thing because the place was seriously packed inside. It was so hard to navigate through the Saturday night crowd.

Next time again?

All in all, it was great hanging out with the girls (Erin included) and The Reserve was a great venue for such a fun night.

P.S.

Check out Ingrid's uber hip yet wearable clothes here, and Xernan Orticio's fantastic fashion creations here.

Binondo

The glorious scene at Quiapo.

These guys were doing mad percussions.

Goodies at Salazar Bakery.

Not sure if PETA approves, but these are cute!

Mixed influences.

Tikoy eating contest.
That's some facial hair.

Siomai overload at Four Seasons.
Welcome the year of the metal tiger with these figurines.

Fooling around Mr. Eng Bee Tin in his ube colored shirt.

A nice wallet or a belt?

Sure, we're all smiles there but by the end of the afternoon we were so beat, we couldn't even manage to talk to each other much. H and I brought home bags of fruits.

Debauchery Days

Thank you Erin for this pic.

This weekend has been hectic. Gawd, my schedule was packed. I didn't have work so it was all good.

Last Friday night, I met up with this guy Luis. He's cute, quite chubby, smart and very talkative. We talked over coffee. It was alright. He likes my smile, I like his.

Yesterday afernoon, I dragged myself back to the gym. I was thinking of going to the Nestea Fit Camp Hot event at The Fort in the morning since I got an invite via email but sleepiness prevailed.

Then at night, I went out with Erin and his fab girlfriends. We went to The Reserve Liquor Lounge somewhere in Ortigas. I like the place. It's a good mix of classic and modern themes. And it's not packed with twinks or tweens. The menu seems reasonable too. I'll post the pictures as soon as I get hold of them. It was a fun night.

Aside from The Reserve, Erin and I were also supposed to drop by Rockwell. Emerging fashion designer and fellow blogger friend Xernan invited us to a fashion event in connection with the Brazilian themed event Carna-Manila. But alas, the night was too short so we didn't make it.

Today, hearts day, I went to Binondo with H for the chinese new year celebrations. I'll post the photos in a bit. Let me just breathe for a while because I am beyond exhausted.

To All The Guys I Fucked Before

It's that time of the year again. I'll skip my traditional whining and bitching this time. But here's a couple of songs to serenade the bitterness until it turns sweet.

Here's to all you heartbreakers (and heartbroken) out there.

Enjoy your V Day!

God Save McQueen

OMFG. McQueen killed himself.

This is so sad. His last runway show was amazing, spectacular, innovative, conceptual, the ultimate fashion extravaganza. But who would have thought it's the conclusion of his succesful career?

There are too many fashion people committing suicide as if it's the new black. WTF?!

Anyway, this is too devastating. What a great loss. Condolences.

Thanks Erin for the heads up.

Meeting Erin

Say hola to the Spanish speaking, proudly swishy, fellow style advocate Dorota Perkins! I mean, Erin! Hahahah...

I couldn't believe this fairy is a teacher!

Erin and I met through this blog while he still maintained Anti-Parvenu.

We talked about boys, fashion, sex and boys.

I had a good time. Erin accentuates his statements with some air kicks and unmistakably flamboyant hand gestures. Upon seeing each other, I extended my hand for a shake while Erin jumped a little and threw both his hands in the air. Then he came closer so I thought we were going to have a light hug with a pat on the back. But no, the fairy apparently greets friends with a beso. So cheeks to cheeks we did.

Say "ahh".

It's funny because everything was so spontaneous. I went to Mega for some errands and he had to go there as well.

It was really fun hanging out with someone funny, loud and candid. I needed that today.

I'll see you again soon Erin!

Walk, Walk, Fashion Baby

It's been raining couture in Paris and menswear fashion shows have concluded.

In haute couture, Dior dished out the expected high fashion drag queens while Gaultier filled the runway with an Avatar inspired ferosha coutura fiesta parada!

Werrk! I mean, arriba!

I didn't get to view a lot of the menswear collections but John Galliano is pretty interesting! I love the Japanese and boxing references and of course the corsets for men! My favorite though is Vivienne Westwood. I'm crazy about the urban, avante garde, homeless chic, half dead-half alive look.

Meanwhile, the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 ad campaign is out. Are you dying with too much ferociosness reverberating from this image?

Raquel FTW.

I am. I hear it. I see it. I feel it. I taste it.

A behind-the-scenes video of this shoot should be interesting.
