Random Rants

The Never-Ending Apartment Hunting Saga

My good friend H and I scoured the Malate (and even Pasay) area today looking for a future abode for my sister and myself. Gawd. It is so damn stressful. It sucks because the day just ended with me having no certain decision.

If it's not too small, it's too scary. If the area is not populated by squatters, it's frequented by prostitutes. In short, we didn't have that much luck. Good thing we still had fun going around town rain AND shine.

I still don't know where I'll be living in a month or so from now but I sure hope it's not a dump. Help?

Movie Review: Sundo

We came to the theather expecting to be by the edge of our seats by the time the credits roll. Please. The two people who told me this movie is "different" and scary obviously do not have the same taste as mine. As H had put it, the movie is like "Final Destination meets The Eye". The plot is unoriginal and not thrilling at all.

Oooh, there's the mumu/ghost with the heavy prosthetics, the sound effects that's supposed to shock the people.

Jeez, it's nothing we haven't seen before. How disappointing.

Busy-ness

Aside from apartment hunting, I've also been busy starting up this very small business with my friend. Nope, I'm not selling my kidneys yet. It involves a lot of shopping so I'm excited about it. Hope everything works out well.

Oral Joys and Woes

After at least a year, one of them shows up again.

I like to think of him as de lata guy. Don't ask why. :) He's simple, humble and never boastful or arrogant. He has a very handsome face, the mestizo kind. You know, clear, fair skin and red lips. He looked a lot better than the last time we saw each other. I too, as he insisted, changed (read: gained weight)-- for the better I'd like to think as I used to be quite 'manorexic'. His are not my favorite set of teeth but his toes somehow make up for it.

Just like before, he was coy, polite and a little shy. But I later decided that he's a good mix of gentle and aggressive, overall charming. The kisses, the petting, the touches, everything, it's like he mastered it all. It was electrifying. Seriously, it was really good.

After some fun, he gave me a hand massage while we swapped more spit here in there. I thought it was very sweet. It was a good "aww moment".

Moments later, we left the building together. He wanted to stay and hang out some more but I had to brush off his tempting suggestion since I was already a few hours behind schedule. I hope we can see each other again soon but I doubt it. We had a great time today though.

Anyway, the reason why I had to go is because there's this gum part behind my left front tooth that's a little swollen. It has been a bitch these past days so I had to see the dentist. As advised, I had it x-ray-ed but I am yet to have the results interpreted. I hope it's nothing serious.

I also went shopping today for this little business I'm starting with a friend. I think it was a pretty productive day. Now if I can just find a new apartment already.

Un-fucking-believable

He was very insistent. He was fun and sweet on text. He's just 20. He has been wanting to meet up with me since Monday. Because of my work, we didn't get to plan the rendezvous until this evening.

He suggested we meet at Mall of Asia at 7 pm. He also said we should go to his place after MOA. I was excited. He was too, he told me.

I arrived at the mall and wandered around since I wasn't getting any messages from him yet. About 30 minutes and 3 unanswered texts later, I decided to call him. It turns out he has been waiting for any text from me as well at the other side of the mall.Globe is seriously fucked up but I'll save that rant for some other time.

He's a little shorter than me but has a nice buff body which is a result of his daily gym routine. Upon restarting my phone, he was embarrassed by the fact that at least 20 messages came in and everything was from him. I thought he it was cute.

We walked around the mall with our arms constantly rubbing against each other, talking easily about random things. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders at some point.

We went to Sbarro where only I ate while he just played with his phone because according to him, he already had dinner and couldn't eat any more because it's late. How ridiculous, I thought, and I let him know too. But he was obviously dedicated to fitness. He even dragged me to some sporting goods stores where he looked for sweat suits.

After Sbarro, I told him I needed to go to the restroom, so I did. When I went out, he was nowhere to be found. I looked at the nearby shops but he wasn't there. I sent him text messages but I didn't get any response. I tried calling him multiple times but I I couldn't contact him either. The funny thing is, I thought of this thing happening while I was in the restroom.

Naturally, I was shocked. I honestly wanted to cry but I didn't. The insensitivity and cruelty left me in disbelief. How can anyone do that? I don't know what the hell happened but the only valid reason I'd accept is if he died.

I was already lining up to get a cab when I decided to go back to the mall for some therapy. I ended up getting a vest from Topman (pictured above) and Terranova which apparently has a men's line now.

Just a couple of minutes ago, he sent a text message. He sent 3 similar texts saying his phone battery got drained and he couldn't find me and he just got home. How fucking lame.

Vlogs: Metro Bar

Here are 2 clips I managed to take at Metro Bar just a few moments ago. My cousin and I were at Timog in Quezon City so we decided to drop by for some comic relief.

There were more funnier moments but I was too busy laughing.

Enjoy the weekend!

What A Weekend

My very long weekend is about to end. :( But boy did I have a great time! :)

Yesterday has got to be the highlight of my 5-day off from work. I got to visit 3 malls and 2 clubs in a day. Now that's what I call productive.

It's the drug-free high of clubbing.

I think it was the first Saturday morning in a long time that I actually went out. First on my list was to get a haircut so off I went to Menage in Gateway, afterwhich I had a Mexican lunch at Taco Bell which I love. I always eat there when I find myself in the area. Then I went to SM Makati and Greenbelt to pay the phone bill and just wandered around.

After that, I headed to Rockwell. Gawd, it's been ages since I was there. I wanted to check out the Rockwell Urban Bazaar specifically to get clothes for my two lovable nephews in the US. (I read about the event through Chuvaness.)

Cute noh?

After getting a shirt my father asked me to buy, I went straight to the Rockwell tent

The funky onesie is from Googoo & Gaga. I also wanted to get the one with the Philippine flag on it from Urban Baby but it's sold out!

Gotta love Team Manila!

As for my 2-year old nephew, I got him a shirt from Team Manila's Tiny Manila line. Adorable, I know! I picked this out in the middle of the commotion over Raymund Marasigan who had an autograph signing stint at the store. I hated myself for not charging my phone before I left in the morning.

I just love Rockwell. It's not too crowded and the place is very clean. I also love looking at the many patrons who are clad in fashionable garb.

In the evening, I met up with Ate Monique, a relative who works in Singapore and is in town for a vacation. We had dinner at Sentro Greenbelt and later met up with my cousin, his girlfriend Miki and my sister. The five of us hit up Fiamma in Makati. The interiors are very swanky-looking and it seems to draw a good crowd but it wasn't that alive last night so we decided to transfer to Ascend at The Fort.

FYI: Ascend was fantastic but I'm not crazy about the way I smelled after getting out of the club. Fiamma, on ther hand, is very strict in prohibiting the customers from smoking inside. Bravo!

You know that feeling when you're dancing so much it's almost embarrassing how much you're sweating but you just can't bring yourself to stop anyway? I terribly missed that and thanks to last night's debauchery, I got to relive that feeling again. It's almost a spiritual experience now when I think of it.

Cheese anyone? It's not guilt-free but wonderful.

Today, Ate Monique and I watched 'You Changed My Life'. She wanted to see it, so whatever. And you know what, I actually liked it. It's a great feel-good movie. It's very baduy but very fun. Besides, when it comes to love, it's the baduy stuff that's usually the sweetest! Sarah's wig is surprisingly not that distracting.

That was an awesome weekend, don't you think?

Super Saturday

Jeezus, today was so much fun and productive! I paid the bills, got a haircut, shopped and partied all in one day.

Miki, Jojo, Monique, Kevin and some random pundit with oily skin

My sister and I just arrived from Fiamma in Makati and Ascend at The Fort, thanks to a balikbayan relative. Gawd, that was so much fun. I haven't had this kind of debauchery in months!

I smell like a chimney so I'll take a quick shower now. Will update as soon as I recover.

The Last Three Days

Good morning Fashion TV. I still don't have work tonight, yay!

Thanks to my approved leave applications, I've been able to do a lot lately. In the course of three days, I was able to hit the gym, go on overtime at work, celebrate my sister's birthday, window-shop for my little business, go to the sauna, lounge around the condo doing nothing and I also went apartment hunting.

But first let me talk about Bryanboy allegedly being responsible for last year's Chikatime. Apparently, I'm not the only one who doesn't have a life and cares enough about this issue. Because of my last entry, my hits have multiplied by five over the past days. Besides visitors from the local shores, chismosos and chismosas from the US, UK, Dubai, India, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia and wherever else around the world dropped by this blog after Googling the keywords 'bryanboy' and 'chikatime'. Aah... the power of gossip. It knows no boundaries. This makes me less guilty.

Meanwhile, there's no update on Victorina yet which is the blog that revived the scandal. As far as I know, Bryanboy has not addressed the issue either. I wonder how long he'll be able to keep mum about it. I also wonder why he hasn't been posting my last 2 comments on his site. My comments do not involve the chikatime matter but my URL leads to this blog which has link to the same sites that sparked the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Oh well.

Anyway, looking for a new apartment is so grueling. I made a few phone calls the other day and looked around the neighborhood yesterday. I haven't checked out any actual property yet but hopefully I'll be able to do so next week. We have barely 2 months left. Gawd, I need divine intervention, or better yet, Divine Lee!

Later.

Bryanboy Behind Chikatime?!

Remember that huge scandal that shook the Manila society scene last year with dirt that would put Pandora's box to shame? Well it seems the Chikatime controversy is back from the ashes threatening to open more LV luggages filled with more chika.

I was browsing Chuvaness today when I read about it. Brian Gorrell is behind this entry revealing that Bryanboy is Chikatime! Insane! I was totally floored.

Bryanboy?! Really? I'm not totally convinced yet but the fact that Chuvaness confirms it is such a strong draw. Bryanboy is yet to make any comments about this issue.

Spot A Prostitute

Just got home from a long overdue dinner with my friend Rica. We ate at Hawaiian BBQ at the SM Mall of Asia bay strip. The food was lovely but the conversation was better; juicy, crazy and funny but somehow always full of sense.

We spent the rest of the night strolling along the bay area cutie-hunting, blabbing and playing 'Spot A Prostitute'. Gawd. That was fun.

P is for Pagod

Instead of lazing around the condo doing nothing, I've been all up working, walking and doing all sorts of stuff during my time off from work.

Last night, I decided to go to the office and render OT with some colleagues. While today, I went to the gym, did some laundry, paid my credit card bill, went to Divisoria for a tiny business venture I'm getting myself into, and bought dinner. And to think I only had 3 hours of sleep. Gawd.

I'm beyond exhausted so tonight I intend to lay low and stay in the entire time because this zombie is about to fall apart. I'm looking forward to my very long weekend next week.

P.S.
The weather is such a bitch. I swear to god the heat is just unbearable.

Rich

Yesterday was exciting. I met up with this Brit guy who lives in Hong Kong. We didn't get to see each other when I was there because he was out of the country then. Coincidentally, he has had plans to visit Manila so we had a late lunch yesterday and hung out the entire afternoon.

He wanted to ride a jeepney and "see Manila" so we left Greenbelt and I took him to Malate. We got on a jeepney at the corner of Mabini and Quirino and boy was he pleased. He looked like a kid riding a toy car for the first time.

During the ride, a kalesa passed by but he was more amused by a cross-dressing "ladyboy" he spotted on the street. Funny.

It was fun playing tour guide and I'm glad Rich had a good time.

Department of Tourism Secretary Ace Durano are you reading this?
