Some Notes On Fashion Week

I know it's late. But let's go!

First of all, Joseph Altuzarra is hot. I'd totally hit it.

Wouldn't you hit it too?
Oh, and his last collection was not bad--very Chris March with all the hair. And I love the leather pieces!

Now that that's out of the way, let me move on and play fashion guru. Everything is based on the collections I've seen online so far.

Innocence or worldlinesss?

Best Geek Chic - Marc Jacobs
It's amusing how Marc Jacobs can bring that understated sexiness to his clothes. They're quirky and almost unappealing at first but his aesthetic grows on you delightfully. He's such a master.

Most Disappointing - Versace
Leather cropped pants? No thanks. The show is as usual filled with electric sex. But it doesn't have that mesmerizing appeal I expect from Donatella. I'm not feeling the shoes either.

Most Surprising - Gareth Pugh
Good news people. You no longer have to be Roisin Murphy to rock Gareth Pugh! (Then again, there's the rent to worry about.) The edge and avant garde vibe is definitely still there but this collection is way more wearable than the past ones. No dead rats this time.

Most Likely To Sell and Bring in the $$$- Gucci
Gorgeous! Frida Gianini knows how to dress women. Period.

Flawless Freja. I can't wait to see Jennifer Connelly in these.
Most Exciting - Balenciaga
Nobody seems to know why Carine Roitfeld and her gang are blacklisted. But it looks like the French Vogue team missed one great show of innovative cuts and high fashion extrvaganza.

Most Overused Look - Balmain
Don't get me wrong. I love Balmain and the way the label is highlighting the female form. But some of the dresses look like reworked pieces from collections past-- same pattern, different fabrics. Just saying. So it was good to see the pantsuits, but not without Decarnin's high voltage glam touches of course.

Most Reminiscent of European Dramatic Seductresses - Dolce & Gabbana
Think Malena. It's a collection of impeccable tailoring, classic sexy silouhetttes and flawless craftsmanship. The Madonna ads make more sense now.

Best Trend - Socks with heels
Aside from fur, socks worn with heels were also ubiquitous on the runways. It's not groundbreaking but a great style statement nonetheless.

This is not even the tip of the iceberg.

Best Street Fashion Goddess - Giovanna Battaglia
There's a lot of style stars out there on the streets of fashion capitals but Vogue Italia fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia steals the show. A former model, she always looks stunning at God-knows-what-age. Her style is never safe and she's just painfully chic.

That's it. Back to reality. I have work tomorrow so I have to sleep.

Ah fashion. How you make me dream.
