Random Rants

At Chef's
Supra

I bought new shoes yesterday! The first time I saw them was at Shang worn by a high school kid. I didn't know where he got them then until I saw them last week at Greyone Social, Greenbelt 5. It's a little out of my budget but I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I called the store 2 days ago to check the available sizes. The guy told me they no longer have it 10 and the biggest size left is 9.5. I was seriously disappointed but I visited the store anyway. Surprisingly, the 9.5 pair fits perfectly! It's my birthday gift for myself.

They're actually skating shoes (I can't skate) but I don't care. They look like space boots to me.

I'll post pictures soon.

The Hipster Med Student

I met up with this skating, piano/violin/bass-playing med student the other day. He's a hardcore hipster. We get along intellectually and lifestyle-wise but it's very sad there's not enough attraction on my part. We still keep in touch though.

Mr. and Ms. Idol-icious 2009

My friend H and I were supposed to watch this hot mess last night. We only bought tickets because a friend of ours decided to finally do something with his life and join this contest after months of realizing his lifelong dream of being a bum.

It featured 48 candicates all vying to be the Mr. and Ms. Idol-icious 2009. The catch: they all have dicks.

But alas, after waiting for 2 hours for the train wreck to start, H and I decided to leave and attend to more important matters (details below).

The Chef

It's a Jason Preston + Marc Jacobs night last night. He's almost twice my age, very succesful and very hot. On the other hand, I'm nothing but a lowly citizen with a taste for danger.

The night was hot, sensual and fun.

It was my first time to actually spend the night in a guy's place. The debauchery only continued when he woke up (I couldn't sleep). I don't know how else to describe it but almost perfect. After taking separate baths, we had breakfast at a nearby diner, then he drove me home. It's unforgettable.

Marooned (Pictionary)

How the fuck do you deal with this?

You make it work of course.

Marooned

The past week has been crazy. To summarize everything, I fell for someone, got my heart broken, then work has been getting in my nerves again and there has been too much alcohol in my system.

Last night, my workmates and I had a booze fest within the UST-EspaƱa area. It was at one of my colleague's place. Here's how everything went down.

Friday, 8:30 PM
We hop on two taxi cabs and leave the office.

I'm not sure what to expect. I think of going home around 12 or 1 AM.

9 PM
Tired and hungry, we stuff our faces with lechon manok and dine al fresco along P. Noval. The place is just a stone's throw away from UST so the neighborhood is pretty busy.

Saturday, 12:05 AM

Everything is good and fun, the kind that only vodka, music and funny conversations can bring about. Our team manager, who also came over, breaks a very bad news-- schedule rotation bullshit.

12:20
I excuse myself and meet up with a guy who lives nearby, a med student in UST. It's just a "hi, hello thing". Nothing special. He looks better in pictures.

12:35
AM

The bitch who I was supposed to share a cab with already left when I return to the table. I think of going home but thought it wouldn't really hurt if I stayed for a bit more.

1 AM
Gay guy kisses two girls. Same gay guy kisses his boyfriend. Another gay guy and another girl exchange mocha flavored shisha smoke through their mouths.

2 AM
I'm still downing shots of vodka and dancing a little bit. The conversation gets heated up when some colleagues start talking about their issues at work.

A colleague shows me his "kit" which contained his stash of Valium along with his other paraphernalia.

2:30 AM
Four bottles of vodka down, two more to go. It starts to rain so we went inside the house. The drinking and conversation continued even though some of us are already starting to get too quiet and slowly passing out.

3 AM
It's still raining hard with lightning and thunder and all. We noticed that the area was already flooded. The water was at least knee deep.

I get nervous, take my last few puffs on the shisha.

4 AM
Our pregnant colleague starts telling us about her awful marriage and starts to cry.

5 AM
The six bottles of vodka are now empty.

It's shitty. The sun is about to rise and we're still stuck in water world.

6 AM
I must have passed out on my seat. I was one of the last people to do so.

8 AM
I wake up. The water is thigh high. I get frustrated.

9 AM
We have breakfast and play cards afterwards. I wish I have a chopper or at least have enough access to summon a chopper over.

I look at the pink refrigerator floating outside the yard.

10 AM
Pusoy dos and 1, 2, 3, pass get us entertained. We have baby powder all over our faces. It's hysterical. The water level is going down but very slowly so.

A commotion erupts outside. "Great", I think. "This would be a perfect time for a gang war." Fortunately, the other party decides to flee.

11 AM
We move on to another card game. The loser drinks half a glass of water-- not the water from the baha but we did consider that.

I feel helpless. Survivor much?

My throat starts to hurt again.

12:50 PM
We have lunch and decide to brave the flood after eating sinigang (our host was very kind). Thank God the water is just about five inches deep now. Tricycles and pedicabs start to pass by the street.

1:40 PM
This is it. I remove my shoes and walk in the damn flood hoping I don't cut or scratch my feet and get leptospirosis. God knows how filthy the water is.

We take pictures and bid each other goodbye.

Then the three of us decide to get on the first jeepney that stopped in front of the house. With my bag and shoes in tow, I get inside the vehicle barefoot.

2 PM
The traffic is insane. I wipe my feet and put on my shoes while the jeepney is barely moving. I pity the residents while watching them throw around buckets of water that managed to get in their homes.

2:25 PM
Dry land! We each get a cab along Quezon Avenue.

2:45 PM
The traffic is fucking depressing. I'm close to passing out in the cab. I catch myself starting to doze off.

3 PM
Home at last! I take a quick bath and doused my feet with rubbing alcohol.

I fall asleep with the TV on.

Oh, Manila... Detox, I need.

Dear Diary

Last night was interesting. I went on a date after a long time. We started talking online and through text in May but it was only last night that we finally met.

We were supposed to watch a movie. But I was late so we had dinner and some drinks instead. He's very nice, too nice in fact.

He's a corporate slave who deals with banking processes and does great photography during his free time. He also does fire zipping. In fact, he's in poi class as I am writing this. He smokes though, which I hate.

The funny thing is, this is also around the same time last year when I started going out with M. I even celebrated my birthday with him. They both have braces, both work at The Fort, both are older than me, both eldest. But you know how that ended. Hahah... We'll see what happens with this one. I'm not even sure if I'm actually attracted to the guy.

But tell me, does sex on the first date ruin everything? Am I stupid for getting turned off when someone is being too nice? Am I ever going to get a new computer?

XOXO

Lady Gaga Rocks Manila

The concert was sick. Only Lady Gaga can get away with looking like a hot space prostitute or a act like a total whore molesting a piano and still inspire millions with her music, style and personality. She's amazing.

This is what Araneta looked like when I arrived. Excuse the poor quality of the pictures. I didn't bring the camera.

An hour later...

Thanks to a bunch of kind girls, I was able to sit comfortably the entire time. They let me sit beside them. A lot of people had to settle for the steps/stairs.

I really felt like a total loser at first because I was surrounded by groups of friends, families, couples and colleagues. But I got over it pretty fast and just enjoyed the show.

The show was brief but it's understandable since The Fame is just her first, and if I'm not mistaken, her only album to date. I was hoping she would open the show with Poker Face and close it with Just Dance but she concluded the show with the former instead and sang Paparazzi in the opening. She did Just Dance somewhere in the middle. It was a very entertaining show nonetheless. Seeing her perform live is such a spectacle. The concert was fun, funny and super hot. The sexuality was palpable, and it goes perfectly with Lady Gaga's superb talents as an artist and a performer.

This is me pretending to be not taking a picture of myself.

After the concert, I met up with a friend from work who was also there (but bought a different ticket) and we both raved about how great it was.

It was such an awesome event. Everybody stepped it up in terms of style. I love it. There were so many hotties too! Gawd.

Speaking of which, during the entire night, I was observing this mejo chinito cutie who sat two rows in front of me. His face is that of a commercial model's what with his immaculate skin and good set of teeth matched with a slender physique. Like I mentioned, I was just observing. So imagine my shock (and delight) when just before passing in front of me he asked where I got my glasses. I was like, "Hong Kong." And he was like, "What?" Then I repeated my answer, after which he smiled and left along with his friends. Then my heart stopped beating and I died.

So yeah, I had a grand time.

Excitabilitiness

Gaga time is in 2 hours and I still do not know what to do with my hair. And unless some kind soul decides to go with me, I'll be enjoying the concert alone. Whatever though. I'm excited!!!

Boys' Night Out

It's 9 am and I have the most terrible hangover in ages. The acid in my stomach is not letting me go back to sleep. I already tried to get rid of it bulimic style but nothing but saliva came out. I just had a bowl of hot noodles but I'm not sure if it made things better or otherwise. I'm hoping for diarrhea now.

Last night I went out with my two cousins. And while one of whom shaves his brows, they're both straight guys. I just had to point that out because I personally find it amusing that I'm able to hang with them (also with my older brother and his friends) between talks about cock rings and bolitas and their occasional, haphazard moves toward girls.

After two buckets of Beer at W, we walked to Greenbelt 3 (Bed Space) where we had more booze and got stuck the entire night. We danced a little which is how we met Camay.

"Like the soap!" she said.

Bitch was just 18 (or so she claimed). There was a point when I was reading a text from a friend and she was like, "Who are you texting? Stop texting!" Then made a hand gesture prompting me to put my phone back in my pocket. It's quite funny.

It was all good and fun until my younger cousin obviously had a little too much and took his shirt off while challenging other young guys to something I don't know exactly. That cocky bastard. We had to leave after his little scene and proceeded to have coffee and some food at Starbucks and made him realize what an ass he was.

We went home around 3:30 am.

I had 5 bottles. I'm not really a big drinker. No Lindsay Lohan here. My inability to induce vomiting further proves this.

The two of them are still unconscious as of writing while I barely had 4 hours of sleep.

Table For One Please

Yesterday I found some excuse to go out because I had some errands to accomplish for my parents.

The day's outfit: oversize, striped shirt from Hollister, super skinny jeans from ukay (P100!), shoes from Springfield, hat from tiangge and bag from Girbaud.

Good thing I brought the camera. Otherwise, I would have had to settle for my phone again.

Hunger pangs brought me to Cibo, Greenbelt 5 where I entertained myself by drawing using the crayons they provide and by talking over the phone to a friend who is currently in Antique raising her baby and kamote.

I had the Porchetta sandwich which is like lechon between pita bread. What makes it special is the delight that it comes with three kinds of delicious sauces/dressing that compliment the dish.

I also love their mint ice tea. Although the one that I had yesterday lacked some mint syrup.

I really like Cibo. If I were to have my own restaurant, it would be something like it.

Another reason I had to go out yesterday is to get a haircut. My hair was getting out of control. I considered having it at Park Jun's upon remembering it being featured on Chuvaness. I was too shy to walk in and ask so I went online and did a little research about their services and prices. It turns out for men's haircuts, they charge P450-P1,050. I thought P450-P650 won't be so bad. I just wanted to give it a try.

I wanted to be sure so I called to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately, the only stylist available was the one who charges an arm and a leg. No freakin' way, not today.

I ended up in Bench Fix instead since Piandre was fully booked.

This one I took using my phone. Haggard much?

I went home feeling poor.

I Was There: Cory Aquino Funeral Parade

Here are clips that I managed to take (with my phone) while at work yesterday as the glory of former president Cory Aquino sweeps Ayala Avenue, Makati with a mix of overwhelming emotions.

Note: Feel free to ignore the irrelevant noises.

As expected, major establishments within the central business district participated in the funeral parade through the traditional shower of confetti.

Honestly, her passing didn't sink in so much until I saw Kris Aquino, her youngest daughter, on TV last night narrating the events surrounding her mother's death. It choked me up a bit. It was not about Kris crying about the death of Cory. It was about a daughter who just lost her mother and how their family is dealing with it.

Yellow Ribbons and a Ticket

May she rest in peace and reunite with her love joyfully.

Meanwhile...

Good night.

Gaga in Manila

Are you going?

I’ll put to rest the eyeliner wearing, melodramatic emo kid in me and talk about something else for a bit.

Lady Gaga will be performing here in Manila on August 11, 2009 (less than two weeks away). I’ve been thinking of going to this concert since early July but it wasn’t until yesterday that I learned about my schedule for next month hence I haven’t really made any certain plans yet. I called Ticketnet this morning and it turns out all the tickets are sold out except for the cheap seats at the Upper Box B and General Admission areas. I’m kind of surprised and bummed all the reserved seating tickets for Upper Box A are sold out but that’s probably a good thing since I'm poor and I have other things to spend on anyway.

The real dilemma now though is; who do I go with? I’m considering going all by myself but I don’t know. Loser much? Isn’t it a little awkward to jump and dance around to Poker Face all alone in a crowd of cliques?

Counting Wounds

It's like I have so much love in me and I don't know what to do with it. So I thought the best thing to do with the most sense is to give some of it away. But I always end up giving it to the wrong people, and along the way I lose myself.

The perfect way to come out of it is to learn a lesson and develop an inner strength. But that remains to be realized. Until then, let me feel each stab, let me shed each tear and let me hope it will be over soon.

Emo Night

I love sleeping in my old torn, hole-y white shirts.

I was down and was overreacting last night so I decided to snap away a little bit just before I managed to doze off.

I need a haircut, AND a facial.

When I was in college, I dreamed of earning my first million by the age of 23. I'm turning 23 in less than two months; my savings is laughable and I can't even get myself into a serious relationship.

Aah, dreams. Have a good one tonight.

Princeville and GA

Last night was an awesome one. Somebody played around big time.

But the most important question is: Have you done the buhat-buhat? And is it just me or is this thing as hilarious as I think it is?! Please tell me all about it.

2699 Window 9

So my parentals, sister and myself went to the US Embassy this morning for our visa application interview. Unfortunately, we didn't get approved after not even 5 minutes of talking to the consul. Gawd, I wanted to bawl. Bitterness is shitty, isn't it?

Anyway, there's always next time right? California's going to have to wait.

We're hitting the mall later to celebrate our rejection by supporting the local economy.

Oh No They Didn't

Is it just me or is it actually shocking that they've started making fake Marc by Marc Jacobs shirts? The bags, fine; I've seen ones from Chloe to Prada. But shirts? Marc by Marc Jacobs? Jeez, they're stepping it up aren't they? The worse is these shirts are extremely cute. But fake is fake.

I saw these at Greenhills yesterday when I was with my good friend H. I didn't bother to check how much they cost.

P.S.
I finally have DSL at home. PLDT myDSL is great but it took them two days to complete the installation. The guys who came over yesterday morning told us they'll be back in the afternoon but they didn't come back until today. That's not right.

Gaga Gang (2)

I didn't eat a single thing today but it's fine because I look good and I wore stockings with my Chucks so fuck you.

I'm nice and I just came to dance. But don't spill your drink on me or I'll cut your face.

Any takers?

After our mandatory cam whore session, Shey and I finally went down to Cinna Bar at the lobby where we had our complimentary drinks and continued to snap away a little more.
This is for the times we didn't get to drink shit-faced together when we needed to do so very much.

Just before midnight, we hit up Greenbelt. We went to Ice Vodka Bar for the mojitos. The drinks were fine but the music was mediocre. The DJ seemed like some random pundit who experimented with the sound system and based his tracks on a list of horrible songs usually played by aweful radio stations. No wonder there's only two people dancing; a pasty caucasian guy who occasionally wiped the floor with his pants and his partner, a Filipino girl who would later wipe the former's jizz off her mouth.
I remembered these to be better.
Bored with Greenbelt, we decided to check out LAX at the bay side of Mall of Asia's complex. I expected a lot since the club opened with DJ Samantha Ronson spinning. I'm not sure if it's the poor facade or the sad line outside, but we decided to leave without even trying to get in. Basically, we just went from Makati to MOA to pee.

I recall having a great time at Ascend a few weeks ago so Shey and I jumped in a cab and headed to The Fort. I was initially disappointed becase (1) the club stank of cigarette smoke and (2) the track list was so hip-hop. They played Nelly and some tunes I used to love when I was in high school. Once Daft Punk got into the mix however, I was a happy boy. Then I just completely lost my shit when Lady Gaga exploded from the speakers. And by that I mean I was dancing like a maniac and Shey was, too, then she knocked my drink off my hand and spilled it all over the damn floor. But of course no one cared. It was sick. I loved it.

It's mainly hip-hop with a punch of electronica and dance, finished with a lot of hotness.

There's nothing like dancing like a sweaty beast, drinking like a fish and smelling like shit when partying.

At 3 am, we decided to leave since I had to work five hours later. Shey and I made a little video while looking for a cab but I deleted it because it's too painful to watch.

We had to drop by McDonald's (Greenbelt) because there's nothing like pigging out after drinking and dancing.--- That bitch of a crew member messed up our orders which we didn't notice until we hopped in a cab so we had to make another stop (Mini Stop) for a bottle of water.

This is me stuffing my face with junk.

Anyway, it was a good night. No, it was an awesome night.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Bitch even ruined her stockings.

Hello 911? I think I'm about to get murdered by my friend.

We should do this again soon.

Gaga Gang (1)

As I've mentioned, this weekend was so much fun albeit tiring. My good friend Shey from Iloilo visited and you know some crazy shit went down. The reason I say that is because we do things that we normally wouldn't do with other people (i.e. run along EDSA while rain is pouring, or eat at KFC in two separate tables and pretend we don't know each other).

Meet Shey. She gets paid to write about flirting and seduction.

We booked a room at the Renaissance Makati where we took tons of pictures of course. Spending a night there by the way is already crazy because we're both currently poor so yeah, any sponsorship for our next bonding time together would be greatly appreciated.

Once done with saying how much we miss each other, unpacking and cam-whoring, we headed to Greenbelt which is just across the street and had dinner at Cafe Mediterranean. Surprisingly, Shey now eats a decent amount of food. This is bad news for me because I'm used to finishing everything.

"I hate my hair." "I hate my skin."

The with and the emo kid.

Thank god for mirrors.

What?

Around 11 pm, when we couldn't take any more pictures (within the confines of the room at least), we finally decided to leave and hit the clubs.

Unfortunately, diamonds are forming in my bladder right now and I'm starvation central so I'll finish this next time, ok? Again, blame PLDT because our phone and DSL won't get connected until 1 or 2 weeks from now. That's fucked up.

Coming up:

Bye for now!
